Media Criticism
“The New York Times editorial … it ought to be in the dictionary under ‘O,’ for ‘out of touch.’”
—U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, GOP presidential candidate, on the Times’ Page 1 editorial calling for gun control. It was the first Times Page 1 editorial since 1920. “Ted Cruz, Conservative Media Blast ‘Out of Touch’ NY Times for Front-Page Gun Editorial,” The Wrap, Dec. 5, 2015

• Editorial Comment: Guns, Bias and the Front Page. Just Thursday, someone was complaining
on one of my FB posts that the NYTimes is a biased and unreliable source in
its reporting about guns. Friday, the NYT did something it hadn’t done
since the 1920s — a front-page editorial on "The Gun Epidemic." This may
be conclusive evidence of the NYT's bias, or it could be an example of
leadership in public discourse on an issue of overriding importance. See for yourself how out of touch: “End the Gun Epidemic in America,” The New York Times, Dec. 4, 2015, p. 1. PeezPix by Ted Pease
