Slippery Slope

New American Dream

“If journalists and commentators let themselves be intimidated into silence; if Trump’s attacks on judges and civil servants lead them to back away from their commitment to the rule of law; if the FBI and Secret Service become tools of executive vengeance rather than impartial instruments of justice; if military leaders become too cowed to recall that their most fundamental duty is to the U.S. Constitution, not to Donald Trump. Well, then Trump will be right that America is no better than Putin’s Russia.”

    • Good one, Ted. —Tony

    • Am enjoying your daily dump on Trump quotes immensely. It’s justified, and important, since he has declared war on you and all your tofu-eating kind.

    • I can’t help thinking (hoping) that the majority of Americans will come to their senses soon and reject Acting President Bannon. Connie

    • Fuck this law professor. He [sic] is a pussy.
    This quote is crap!
    If...... let themselves be intimidated...
So, Trump might be aggressive, but media should act boldly, and not be intimidated. If they act like a pussy, it is their fault. They can not blame Trump.
I really hate this quote. typical liberal pussy playing a victim card.
Fuck you to continue this garbage. I unsubscribe this. Fuck.

Thank you for your feedback. This is exactly what’s so wrong with what passes for social “dialogue” these days. Indeed, however, despite your perspective, many people in both government and civilian ranks are frightened, worried and feel threatened by the vindictive tone of the new administration, which you have echoed so accurately. I appreciate your illustrating and elevating the level of discourse.
