Butterfly

Write Now

“It is necessary to write, if the days are not to slip emptily by. How else, indeed, to clap the net over the butterfly of the moment? For the moment passes, it is forgotten; the mood is gone; life itself is gone. That is where the writer scores over his fellows: he catches the changes of his mind on the hop.”
—Vita Sackville-West (1892-1962), English author and poet; Virginia Woolf’s partner

  1. If people did not write back in the day, before cameras or videos were developed, we would not know what had happened. Writing is a gift, and it is a curse. It is a gift if you know how to use words well and it is a curse if you don't or in my case it's a curse since I have to do a lot of it in order to graduate. :P

  2. I like the butterfly analogy, it really signifies how to capture the moment. Take the time to feel out the moment to write about it or take a mental picture. SOme would say to seize the moment before it's gone and there is nothing but regret in your mind.

  3. There are some things that aren't worth remembering. I personally am hesitant to write about anything that may come back to bite me in the.... well you get the idea.
